This is for anyone who wants to do this.
Cloning a WP website to a sub-domain manually is impossible.
The original domain is everywhere. If you have a lot of plugs it's
in all them.
This is how it can be done.
you must use a migration plugin.
1-- download your current version of WP from here
https://wordpress.org/download/releases/
Right click on correct version --copy url-then paste to new
window for download.
2- create sub-domain. apply ssl
3- follow these instructions on how to deploy WP
manualy on sub-domain- get basic new WP install
working. ---must be your current version of WP-
Use same name and password from main site on
new site. Use a "new" name and pass for database.
https://forum.aapanel.com/d/1347-how-to-manually-deploy-a-website
Zip new WP site directory folder-- backup the data base
in case something goes wrong. you can unzip
and start over. --make new database.
4- download this plug.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/backup-backup/
install this on your new site and the original.
5- Use this plug on original site to create
a copy -- --one click ,,-with options if needed.
6- On new sub-domain site use this plug to
get copy from orginal site.
one click- it will clone original site to
subdomain.
If you have problems on clone site try turning off all
unessential plugs when making copy.
of you get an error log message at coning
at 98%- ignore it. -try loging in again --
the sub-domain clone will be there.
Good luck
