JoeDostie Is there any official documentation on the "CUT LOG" option in the cron tab? I am trying to readup onn it and see exactly how it works and what its doing but Im not having any luck on finding any aPanel docs. I am reading up on this: https://laptrinhx.com/linux-logrotate-log-cutting-tool-2177116959/ and also looking at the files themselves but still having a tough time following. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
aaPanel_Jose JoeDostie Cut log means that the website log is cut and compressed according to a specified period of time, to avoid a log that is very large and difficult to analyze
JoeDostie So it ONLY cuts the log - it dosen't do any deleting or archiving? The reason I ask this is becuase I have "Backup To" and "Keep Last" available.
aaPanel_Jose JoeDostie Yes, at present, it can only be saved to the local and specified storage quantity, but cannot be saved to the specified storage. We will arrange to update this function
JoeDostie Cool, no problem...just learning the process here... I also noticed it ONLY cuts the "access log" and appears to leave the "error log" alone. Any chance to have the error log added as an option or select box or something like that?
JoeDostie I would agree that its definitely good for troubleshooting but over a period of time it could become large. Keeping a local copy that is zipped should suffice (in my opinion). It would just be nice to have that as an option maybe - maybe give a warning or something.
